CVMatch4Jobs Privacy Policy
This privacy policy specifically governs the collection and use of personal information by UBM Information Ltd trading as CVMatch4Jobs and any person who wishes to use the CVMatch4Jobs website, services and facilities should read this privacy policy carefully.
CV information supplied by candidates and its usage
Candidates who register their CV with CVMatch4Jobs do so voluntarily and remain in control of their privacy and job preferences at all times. Using a series of settings at registration which can be updated at any point, candidates themselves determine the visibility and accessibility of their CV to recruiters using the CVMatch4Jobs service. Accessibility in this context includes permission to print, download/save or distribute copies of a candidate’s CV.
At a global level, candidates determine whether to allow:
- Open CV access allowing their CV to be viewed by all recruiters
- Permission-based CV access whereby recruiters must, via an automated email, request permission from the candidate to view their CV
- Hidden CV whereby the candidate’s CV is automatically excluded from searches of the CV database.
Candidates may also self-compile their own excluded recruiters list which will automatically hide their CV from those recruiters. Candidates should note that, by its nature, the accuracy of this facility cannot be guaranteed by CVMatch4Jobs and candidates are strongly advised to take the additional precaution of selecting permission-based access whereby recruiters must, via an automated email, request permission from a candidate to view their CV. Candidates can also remove their CV completely from the CV database at any time using the CV deletion option.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to regularly review and maintain their privacy and job preferences.
Registration information collected from candidates and its usage
Different types of information are collected from candidates at registration and through cookies in order to:
- provide personalised services which are unique to individual candidates
- share anonymous, aggregated statistics about the site with recruiters and advertisers
- monitor and improve the services offered
Personal information collected from candidates may include contact name, postal address, email address, landline or mobile telephone number as well as other non sensitive personal information. Registration information collected from a candidate will not be shared with a recruiter or advertiser without a candidate’s permission.
CVMatch4Jobs will disclose personal information internally and to third parties for processing purposes associated with the supply of goods and services, for web site administration, or elsewhere with consent to such disclosures, or where such disclosures are required or permitted by law. Third parties are contractually bound only to use personal information to perform the services that CVMatch4Jobs hires them to provide.
CVMatch4Jobs will use personal information collected to regularly email candidates about the service and/or to support a candidate in their search for a job including reminders to candidates to update their CV, their job preferences and their privacy settings. Where a candidate has selected Permission-based CV access, candidates will also receive automated emails requesting permission for a recruiter to view their CV.
Email privacy is respected and candidates will not receive unsolicited marketing emails from UBM Information Ltd, the owners of CVMatch4Jobs, or its international affiliates (collectively UBM) or from third parties without that the candidate’s permission.
By continued use of CVMatch4Jobs, candidates consent to the collection and use of personal information for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Website usage & cookies
A cookie is a piece of information that is stored on a computer’s hard drive by a web browser. Whilst most browsers accept cookies automatically, the settings of a browser can usually be altered to prevent automatic acceptance. Rejecting the use of cookies may however affect the efficient operation of the site.
CVMatch4Jobs will use a candidate or recruiter’s personal information to help a candidate or recruiter to log on to his or her account and into restricted areas of the site and to permit future use of the site. CVMatch4Jobs may use a candidate or recruiter’s IP address to help diagnose problems with its server or to administer its site. CVMatch4Jobs may conduct analyses of traffic to measure the use of its site and to improve the content of its site and its services. These analyses will be performed through the use of IP addresses and cookies.
Advertisements on the site may be generated by third parties who may use cookies to track viewing of their advertisements and for other purposes specified in their own privacy policies. CVMatch4Jobs has no access to or control over these cookies although it may use statistical information (not containing personal information) provided or arising from these third party cookies to improve the targeting of advertisements to candidates and other users of the site. Further information about third party privacy policies can be obtained directly from third party sites or their cookies disabled by visiting their web sites.
Data security
CVMatch4Jobs uses administrative, technical, and physical measures to safeguard personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised uses, access or modifications. Certain areas of the CVMatch4Jobs website are password protected and candidates can help to preserve their privacy by ensuring they do not share their password with anyone else.
Contractors used in connection with the running of the site and services are subject to strict contractual obligations. They are only able to process data on behalf of CVMatch4Jobs in accordance with its principles and instructions and not for any other independent purpose.
Payments made by recruiters via the site are processed in a secure environment using software provided by Verifone or other third party providers.
CVMatch4Jobs take steps to regularly validate the personal information it holds to ensure that the information is accurate and, where necessary, up to date. Information that is no longer required for any valid business purpose, and that CVMatch4Jobs is not required to keep pursuant to any applicable law, will be routinely destroyed by secure means.
Transfer of data
CVMatch4Jobs is accessible via the Internet and so may potentially be accessed by recruiters situated outside the European Economic Area. This means that, where candidates determine so by their job preferences and privacy settings, their CV may be accessed from anywhere around the world and therefore a transfer of their data outside of the European Economic Area may be deemed to have occurred. Candidates are consenting to such transfer of data for and by way of this purpose.
Third party data processors and other such business relationships outside of the EEA are required by CVMatch4Jobs to take adequate technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. CVMatch4Jobs also take measures to ensure that personal information transferred by CVMatch4Jobs outside of the EEA is adequately protected.
Making automated decisions
CVMatch4Jobs do not use personal information for the purposes of automated decision making. However, CVMatch4Jobs may do so in the future in order to fulfill compelling obligations imposed by law, in which case candidates and recruiters will be informed of any such processing and be provided with an opportunity to object.

CVMatch4Jobs reserves the right to add to or amend this privacy policy at its sole discretion and without prior notice. Candidates and recruiters are advised to review this privacy policy on a regular basis to make sure they have read the latest version and understand what CVMatch4Jobs does with a candidate or recruiter’s personal information.
Continued use of CVMatch4Jobs following the posting of changes to these terms means that the candidate or recruiter consents to those changes.
